Decommissioning and the challenge of change

Decommissioning is a complex and challenging part of the commissioning cycle, with a high failure rate compared to other types of service change. Success hinges upon building a strong case for change, strong clinical leadership and patient and public engagement. This session explores the role of local and political accountability, considering how to meaningfully communicate changes to the public and what is needed to make service change a success.
