From research to adoption: ensuring innovation meets the needs of the population and the health system

In a fast-moving innovation landscape, experts in this session will explore the direction of travel for research and innovation. They will consider how commitments in the 10 Year Health Plan and Life Sciences Sector Plan are progressing and what more needs to be done to realise the potential of medicines and innovation, including MedTech and AI to support health systems, and deliver better outcomes for the population. The discussion will span all parts of the innovation journey from research through to adoption and consider how all parts of the innovation ecosystem can work together to realise its potential. It will also explore the role that organisations such as NHS England, NIHR, NHS Trusts and NICE can play in the innovation journey.
