Integrated health organisations unlocked: early lessons from the first candidates

As integrated health organisation (IHO) contracts move from concept towards reality, this session will explore how the IHO model has evolved and thinking has advanced since their announcement in the 10 Year Health Plan. Join system leaders involved in the first wave of IHOs, alongside those designing national policy, as they reflect on the journey so far. The panel will consider how they see IHO contracts aligning incentives and reducing fragmentation to improve population health outcomes and accelerate the shift to out-of-hospital care, while also addressing the practical challenges of rethinking accountability, managing risk, and strengthening collaboration across sectors.
