Development of the ten-year health plan (10YHP) has involved one of the ‘biggest national conversations about the future of the NHS since its birth’.
During this session, senior leaders involved in different aspects of the plan’s development will reflect on what they would like to see in the plan and how we ensure the public continues to have a ‘voice’ during the plan’s delivery and beyond. The panel will cover:
• How public engagement with the 10YHP differed from previous policymaking processes and the opportunities and trade-offs this has presented
• What changes they believe would better align care with the public’s wants and needs, and how we will know if the ‘public’s fingerprints are all over the plan’
• How we can ensure diverse communities remain involved in the implementation of the 10YHP in a fast-paced policy environment, including by learning from other parts of the public sector.
